This is my submission for 365 on flickr and I am joining in the "you capture"

challenge for the weel.it is "black and white" so I could kill two birds with one stone today seeing as this picture did a 360 degree turn once I had turned it black and white.
You capture is a great project as it gives you something new each week.
The 365 is self portraits everyday.I'll be honest,iI am a little nervous about coming up with a picture of myself everyday for a year.We'll see how it goes :0)

I have practiced yoga on and off for a number of years now.I love the way it makes me feel,the clarity it brings to my mind and the peacefull flow as I move through my practice.As with a lot of things, it got pushed to the side as I battled a personal struggle.This has been leaving me feeling deflated,exhausted and sad but when I shared my struggle with one so very close to me,I felt the weight on my shoulders and around my neck fall away.
Immediately I found myself drawn back to my mat and things are looking decidedly brighter than they have for a while.Even better is that Papa has finally taken an interest in the yoga himself and it is fun to do a rountine or two with him,especially as he makes me giggle watching him do something new.The concentration in his face is that of our elder son,they are the same:0) ♥
I was also explaining karma to my eldest child the other day.She found it very interesting and I could see the cogs turning in her mind as she mulled our conversation over.It will be interesting to see how she includes this knowledge in her daily routine.Maybe she will be niceer to her siblings,one can hope :0)
Talking of karma.I bought myself a little gift from Etsy today ,this,but in red.The chakra description suited me better.Head over to Dote's store and check it out,she has some wonderful items and they are easy on the wallet to boot.

Morning all:0)

I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.Over here in the "S" household we have been enjoying the return of the farmer's market and Mama's groove.It's been a long time coming seeing as I have been stuck in a bit of a funk of late but,ah ahhh,I'm over that now and with my mixing spoon at the ready,I am ready for a battle with the ginger grater and my muscles were twitching at the thought of giving all of those lemons a good squeeze:0)

I have been a fan of Mothering since my first loss.I was convinced that I had done/ate/cleaned something wrong or full of chemicals and went completely off the deep end!!Everything went out,you name it bleach,shampoo,the apples that last way too long without going soft and the plastic singing Ernie toy that my first born loved so much!! A kind friend gently steered me off the path of crazy insanity and handed me my first copy of Mothering.When I came down off my grief induced crazy ride,I devoured the magazine but took from it what I wanted and left the rest.I learnt to mother from the heart and not give a flying fiddlestick what anyone else had to say about it.Well four children (and two more losses which I know were nothing to do with my occasional weakness for a diet coke) later,I pretty much don't have the time to take a quick pee let alone devour a magazine in one sitting but I keep my subscription up to date and steal a page or two in a school pick up waiting line or the kids precious Wii time and that is how I came upon this beauty.Just in time I tell you as this 95 degree heat was killing me and I was getting quite sick of the amount of water I was having to drink to prevent myself from perspiring into a wet puddle on the floor!

Enter Ginger and lemon syrup!!

Recipe thanks to the most recent edition of Mothering.

:: 2 cups of lemon juice

:: one cup of sugar

:: 2 tbls of grated ginger

Stick it all in a pan,dissolve the sugar over a low heat and warm until it has thickened slightly.

Fill a glass with ice,put two or three teaspoons over the ice and fill the glass with either fizzy (my fave)water or plain ol' tap water.Stir and enjoy with the friend of your choice:0)

Save the rest in a cool looking vintage jar and stick it in the fridge!

Have fun and don't burn your tongue tasting the syrup before it's cooled,not that I did such a thing!!

I often ask myself,"what was I thinking when I said that I could do without a dishwasher"!!!!

I cannot wait to start on our kitchen.From the early sixties with three different wallpapers,it is not a pretty sight!

We do still have the original chestnut butler's pantry and we are trying very hard to incorparate it into the design but oh it is tough.I will share some pics later so you get the idea.Our house is from 1912 and we are the third owners.Thankfully much of it was left untouched through the fad of painting over everything in sight and we are blessed with lots and lots of chestnut but my the kitchen,oh the kitchen:0)

Even though it was steaming hot,we had a wonderful day.It was spent splashing in the paddling pool,blowing bubbles and finished off with a cold quiche and watermelon.

It's been a while folks but hey that's me.

Fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal,quite the clumsy lass but it all works out in the end:0)

We have been trying to get into our summer groove,it's taking me a little longer than usual,I must be getting old!Ha!

We have been enjoying strawberries from the farm this week.

I can't put them down for a second as miss Annie scarfs them all!

Also I finally treated myself to the berry bowl that I have been coveting for the past two years

Well worth the wait.It is every bit as beautiful as I imagined it would be.So well made,thank you Melissa:0)

Also I finally got my website up and running,still some tweaks to be made but going back to that "seat of my pants" thing,I somehow made myself go live before completing the thing.Hey that's one way to get your bum into gear,I tell you.No procrastinating when you know the world can see you working.

Hopefully I can get into the summer groove soon as I am feeling out of sorts with the inability to fall right back into last years stride.Me and that rhythm thing,I tell you,I am such a contradiction in terms,but it is so true.I love to just wing it where I can but the comfort of rhythm to my days just makes me feel 'safe',if that makes any sense???

Anyhoo,i'll sign off now before you all think I am a complete nut job!!
